How it works

Income is part of the design.

Corporate bond issuers make contractual coupon payments. Coupon income is collected within the fund; the fund may make periodic distributions to investors, while a portion of income may remain in or be reinvested through the fund to support total return.

Corporate bonds

Issuers pay contractual coupon payments.

Fund income

Investor return

Periodic distributions may be made, with a portion potentially retained or reinvested in the fund.

Why NB8

Access beyond the retail shelf.

Many corporate bond issues in the Nordic-Baltic region can be difficult for private investors to access directly because of minimum ticket sizes, investor-status restrictions or primary-market availability. The fund pools capital and provides a professionally managed way to access a diversified set of issuers.

Primary-market access

Exposure to corporate bond issues that may not be readily accessible to private investors directly.

Diversification

A portfolio across Nordic and Baltic issuers, sectors and maturities intended to reduce dependence on any single issuer.

Professional credit analysis

Issuer financials, business model, governance, maturity and bond terms are analysed by Alphinox before and during ownership.

Our credit approach

Credit before coupon.

Higher income starts with a disciplined credit process. The portfolio is not a search for the highest coupon.

01

Financial strength and stability

Assess balance sheet, cash flow, leverage, liquidity and resilience.

02

Coupon relative to risk and maturity

Assess whether the offered coupon adequately compensates for issuer risk, bond structure and time to maturity.

03

Business model and governance

Assess durability of the underlying business, competitive position, management quality and governance.

Many portfolio bonds may not carry formal credit ratings. The fund’s investment committee performs its own credit assessment; an unrated bond is not automatically treated as low quality or high risk.
